A.NORTON HOUSE
A30 West Main Street circa 1760 Colonial/Cape Cod style
This was one of eight buildings moved to the present town center by oxcart from the town common on Lisle Hill. Its original features include hand-blown window glass, wide-board floors, and hand-hewn beams. The center chimney has three fireplaces with a baking oven still in place. Like many buildings in town, the Norton House survived damage from the Hurricane of 1938 and other natural disasters, including Tropical Storm Irene in 2011.
